Trying the Compatibility Troubleshooter for the program resulted in no joy either. So essentially what this proves, is that the error is not on my end or their end and suggests a program incompatibility issue error for Macrium Reflect 8 running in Windows 10 Version: Now how is that the Macrium Reflect Update server can be reached in my Macrium Reflect 7 Free version and not Macrium Reflect 8 Free?

I selected Update Now and when Reflect 8 Free was installed, I was right back where I started with the program telling me my License Key was invalid and the Updater not fetching updates. I was given three options: Update Now, Remind Me Later or Never. Now, when I checked for updates in the latest version of Macrium Reflect 7 Free, it stated that my License Key in Macrium Reflect 7 Free was valid for Macrium Reflect 8 Free. So, I upgraded to the latest version of Macrium Reflect 7 Free and am currently on v and the Updater works! I installed Macrium Reflect 7 Free (Version v) and the Updater offered v. I would try auto fetch first, if that works then try different numbers.Setting the router to auto fetch a DNS did not work either. I'm going to fiddle with that a bit and see if Macriums updater likes a different set of numbers, or set DNS to auto fetch, because it being the weekend, Macrium support has went silent on me for the time being. It is the only thing I changed, because Outlook mail did not reach the sign-in page when my router was set to auto fetch a DNS protocol, so I was forced to input a preset DNS batch of numbers in order to get my Outlook mail working. I never had this problem with Macrium before and I'm starting to think it is because my routers DNS is set manually, and Macriums' server does not like a manual setting for the DNS numbers. I followed supports ludicrous suggestion of disabling the Windows security for the download and install of Macrium, and that still did not make a difference. I followed every instruction to the "T" that was outlined by support, and still the Updater within Macrium will not check for updates properly.įor laughs, I even installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 to make sure my system was clean to install the program.

Just before the weekend hit, I had to have the support ticket escalated, because apparently my situation is unique for the Updater throwing the error that it does.
